Foodics and Cloudteam’s relationship started a couple of years ago when Cloudteam were introduced to
Foodics by their Salesforce partner Cloudworks. Cloudteam supported Foodics with an implementation of
FinancialForces financial management solution. In this case study we look at what made them choose
FinancialForce, and also the significance of the partner relationship that developed between the two
organisations.

First let’s take a look at who Foodics are.

Foodics all-in-one, cloud-based point of sale system makes it easy for retailers and food & beverage businesses to
get a holistic overview of their company and its operations. With Foodics, companies can access real-time
reporting, high-tech inventory management, and even submit orders to the kitchen or manage employees’

They help their customers launch their business, track progress and grow sales. Their Smart POS system allows
companies to future-proof their business and gets ready for the digital revolution. As part of their global world, they
have designed their systems to support companies with English, Arabic and Turkish language options.

Belonging to the Alwans for information technology group, Foodics is their product. This restaurant management
system/POS was launched in 2015. Initially it started to support the food and beverage industry and now
supports all different types of restaurants, from fine dining to food trucks. They currently have over 4000
customers across the Middle East and also have customers in North Africa, Turkey, Europe and the Far East.

We spoke to Dia Shaker, Revenue Director at Foodics and asked him what his role involved………

“For Foodics revenue is all about growth, so it covers sales, marketing, customer success, professionals
services, training, channel partners, special projects and payments projects. For Foodics these all contribute to
growth”

Dia also told us that his role is to ensure that all operations are being carried out with the maximum of efficiency.
Having the right tools, right automations, ensuring strong collaboration and using the right technology.

Using the right technology brings us to their decisions around their technology stack, building the right backend
ecosystem. The decision was made to utilise the investment they had made in Salesforce, as their CRM system,
and begin using FinancialForce financial management system along with some other integrated tools to ensure they
had proper visibility of their business, and to enable their teams to give the best customer service possible.

What were some of the key challenges you were looking to resolve?

Foodics were already using a cloud based accounting system, but it came with limitations. The finance team was
not happy with it, and after several attempts to engage with their supplier it became apparent that they needed to
invest in something better. The decision was made to move to another cloud based solution that was native to
and would easily integrate with Salesforce.
